These faces

....are so beautiful to me.  I don't even have words.  I just love them both so much!

I *just* missed this moment and thus it's blurry, but I just couldn't delete it.  I love this little guy!

More trains...

Owen will make anything into a train.  Blankets, books, baskets.  You name it.

He loves making his toy baskets into "freights".  On this particular day, he asked me to "put Dylan in that freight car".

Luckily Dylan played along quite well.   Owen, on the other hand, did NOT want me to take a picture.  Aww!

We're still here!

There have been so many things happening here- birthdays, interviews and promotions, sickness- that I've not had a chance to update.  I also, ahem, broke our laptop so ALL my photos have yet to be recovered from it.  So for now all you get are a couple blurry phone photos.  Oh, and my phone broke (NOT MY FAULT) so add that to the list.

Dylan is starting to sit up!

And Owen wants us to post everything online. He'll do something ordinary, and say "post this online. That will be helpful."  He basically makes me laugh at every turn.  Unless he's throwing a tantrum, which are becoming more common these days.... Oh age three, am I right?!
I promise we'll be back soon.

Owen's new obsession

Owen LOVES to draw, and he LOVES trains.  So of course, he spends a lot of his time drawing trains.

Does anyone know who this train is?

I will give you a hint: Owen put his number on his coal tender.

(Yes, Owen drew that number 5 all by himself, which basically impressed my socks off.)

Answer: it is James from Thomas and Friends.

J's 27th Birthday

My birthday was really great this year!  Who am I kidding- it's always great with these boys of mine.  They spoil me.  I also felt pretty spoiled by others- a friend took me out for a mani and cupcake, and then we (us and our husbands/ my kids) went out for pizza.  So fun!

I got lots of flowers for my birthday- which is great because who doesn't love having flowers in the house?!

The boys made me a special birthday card as well.  Too sweet :-)

As usual, our celebration revolved around FOOD.  We went to Portobello for brunch, followed by an attempt at a nap.  I also made myself a peanut butter pie (SOOOO GOOD!)

We were going to go mini-golfing, but Owen slept for a long time so we passed on that.  It was a gorgeous day, so we sat outside and talked with our neighbors instead.  We went out for a special dinner with our friends, and then Kraig made me a special cocktail to cap off the evening.  He loves making a new drink each year- this year's included St Germain liquor, which is AMAZING.  He had also brewed me a special homebrew!  What a sweetie!  It is delicious- a belgian-style wit bier.  I'm so impressed with his home brewing skills.

Cheers to 27 years!

Peanut is 3 months old!

and 17 lbs.  I can't make this stuff up.

He's also 27 inches long, so he's tall as well.  Just a giant baby.

His eye color is still making me crazy!  I just want to know what they'll be.  They look more green than ever before lately.... but maybe they are on their way to brown.  We'll see!

There is a lot of hand-gnawing and drooling going on.  I hope it turns into thumb-sucking.

Lots of personality from this kid.  He is a smiler!  He chortles, too, a la Gus Gus from Cinderella.  We love it.

He isn't sleeping all that great at night- he wakes a lot- but I'll forgive him and hope this stage passes quickly.

He also went through a phase where he would refuse to nurse at night.  That was FUN!  Not!
But who can stay mad at this face?

He's starting to scoot himself up and over his boppy pillow.  Mobile, already.  It's kind of nuts.

He's a sweetie.  A fierce, temperamental, moody sweetie :-)

And Peanut's real name is Dylan.  Sometimes I forget that.
