Third Annual Cookie Exchange

I'm so glad that we've been able to keep this tradition going.  There are few things we love more than to have guests over for a party, especially when it revolves around yummy baked goods.  In years past we have had close friends over for a cookie exchange in mid-December.  Not much has changed except the location, the friends, and the fact that nobody had to drive because they live in our neighborhood :) :)  Okay, so a lot has changed but it was as fun as ever!

The pre-guest spread:
clockwise from bottom row, left-  Starbucks gingerbread loaf (that was Kraig's contribution :)), chocolate avocado cake (vegan and delicious!), peppermint patties (also vegan, also delicious), chocolate avocado cupcakes, and an appetizer spread of pita chips, hummus, olives, pistachios, and spiced hazelnuts.

Post-guest arrival (my wonderful photographer neglected to catch the 4 platters of cookies on the bar.  I'll mention them anyway :))  We had russian tea cakes, coconut chocolate bars, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, spritz cookies, and chocolate peanut haystacks.

Owen was a cookie bandit.  We figured that he ate 5 cookies, but those are just the ones we saw him eat.  He kept sneaking into the kitchen and grabbing a cookie off the table, shoving it into his mouth before we could grab it from him.  Sneaky.  He even resorted to trying to crawl past us- I can't make this stuff up.

It was so fun and we look forward to doing it again next year!
