That's right- baby had his 4th ultrasound this pregnancy.  Le sigh.  I don't love having multiple ultrasounds, but at this point I suppose they are teetering on "necessary".  He did very, very well during his biophysical profile- he completed all the "tasks" (fine and gross motor movement) and his heart rate, cord, etc looked great.  We were out in 15 minutes- they are given 30 minutes to "pass".  It was so nice to see him again, even though we'd rather see him in person!  His little hands were up by his face and we got to watch his diaphragm moving as he practiced his breathing skills.

We have another photo that better shows his face, but it's pretty abstract (taken from a weird angle) so not really worth posting.  I'd just have to explain everything that you're seeing.  But he has a cute little nose and such a sweet face!  I know, I know... all babies look alike in ultrasounds (or so everyone says) but we have a certain affinity for our button-nosed boys-- they get that from their mama ;-).

So we're still waiting- I had about 5 hours of uncomfortable contractions yesterday.  Let's just say we had an awkward- and quick- trip to Trader Joe's wherein I made many shoppers nervous that I was about to have a baby.  Ahem.  Anyway, I knew it wasn't the real thing, and am glad that my body is "practicing".  I know it's helping to dilate and prepare my body, so I will take all the practice I can get, especially if it makes for a faster, easier labor later!

I have another NST tomorrow and might ask for a cervical sweep.  It's my last ditch effort to get baby out before Thanksgiving, though I have come to terms with him deciding to come over the holiday weekend.  We will be seriously shifting plans around if that happens, but we're ready for it if we need to do so.  And anyway, Owen has been sick with something awful (a cold, I think, but he is very rundown) since Friday so now is not the *best* time to be going into labor.  Hopefully he's feeling better ASAP.

I'm still hopeful though, and I think 11/21, 11/22, or 11/23 sound like perfect birthdays.  They have a nice ring to them, don't they?
