It's been raining a bit here lately. I know, I know, we live in Portland. Doesn't it rain all the time here?! Well no, not all the time. But we are entering the "rainy season" aka Winter. Hey, I'll take rain over snow, sleet, and ice any day of the week.
Anyway, we made a trip to Target since our fave community resale shop didn't have what we were looking for... Rain boots in Owen's size! I scoured the web to view their selection, picked out some cute striped ones, and then arrived at Target to find that they didn't have the striped ones in the store. Curses, Target!
We opted for the Frog boots once Owen saw them and started saying "Riddit! Boot! Riddit! Boot!"
He knows just how to tug at our pocketbook.
He looks cute in them, though, and we got a matching raincoat to go with them. Can I take a moment here and rant about how awfully tacky kid's attire is these days? Some of the rain coats had weird fins and flaps, and most of them had some licensed character on it (blech). Can't a mama find a nice, classic yellow raincoat for her son? Sometimes less is more, you know.
Well, we're still waiting on the raincoat to arrive, but here are some photos to hold you over. Excuse the blurriness- it was raining and dusk, after all.
Okay this is so blurry but can you see ALL THOSE TEETH!??!! 13 and counting!
Owen learned a new word- a name, really. We have two neighbors named Donna, and before a potluck last week Owen started saying Donna! Donna! Donna! Obviously, both Donnas just melted upon hearing their name from this sweet boy. The thing is, he hasn't stopped since! He points to the door, points to their houses, looks outside... all while saying Donna? Donna? And while Kraig let him outside to run around in his new "riddits" he went straight to Donna #1's house and knocked on the back door.
She wasn't home, but I'm sure she would have just loved her adoring visitor.
Maybe next time.
