We took a stroll through the abandoned streets of Seattle to check out Pike Place Market. Abandoned? Yes, because it was 18 degrees outside and there was an inch of snow. Seriously, I think all the Seattleites were inside clutching their water bottles and canned goods waiting for the end of the world. It was just a little snow, ya'll! (For those of you who are confused, though we are a bit farther north than Ohio, it does not usually snow in the Pacific Northwest. Warm ocean currents, mountains, valleys, etc all lead to warm-ish (mid 40's) winter temps resulting in quite a bit of rain but not very much snow- if any.)

This is the 1st and Pike store- the first store rebuilt after the expansion freeze at the beginning of the recession. This is a LEED certified store, completely sustainable in every detail, and signified that Starbucks had made it through the hard times. Amen.
Pike Place Market. Seriously, everyone was shocked that I had warm boots, a hat and gloves. They seriously are ill-prepared for snow here!
The Mecca, aka, the first Starbucks store. Basically just a retail store, nothing too exciting... that is, unless you are Kraig- seeing this store was like an early Christmas for him.

AHHH!!!! I had some (a lot) of extra time today, and so I started at the beginning of your blog. Don't judge me.
Funny: One of my very best friends Rachael's sister works at the original Starbucks and is in the picture!!! She's the one with dark hair at the first till on the right.
