"I hate painting"

I don't hate painting, in fact I love it.

Kraig?  Not so much love.  To be fair, he doesn't really like any house projects, ha!  At the end of the day, however, he was saying things like "I don't know why I always think it's going to take a long time. It's not that bad."

Win.

Sooo.... Nesting report!  In the last few days I've removed all the caulk from our bathtub and re-caulked.  Yes, I am super handy.  Did you know that re-caulking is supposed to be an annual thing?  I didn't.  But ours was a little mildew-y so I got all perfectionista and decided to re-do it.  A bit ridiculous?  Yes.  But does it look better?  Much.

We also painted our entire living room and hallway.  The previous colors were nice, but the paint job was awful.  There were some permanent marker stains from the previous tenant, and it only had one coat.  Ugh.  It drove me NUTS.

Here are a few before photos:
It was two shades of yellow.  We kept the two-shade theme.

Holes spackled, stains primed and ready for paint.

I was on trim duty.  A hard job, but someone has to do it!  Yes, I wore a mask even though we buy
non-VOC, low-fume paint.  Safety first!

Ahhh, finished.  This is the lighter shade of green.

The two colors next to each other.

I think the greens really make our couch upholstery POP, don't you?  (it's hard to see in this photo, but there are thin, light green stripes on the couch.  They're next to the orange.)

It looks so much better.  We love it!  Now it's time to redecorate the walls- new frames, new wall hangings, new art.  Exciting!
