26! One week shy of the third trimester (depending on how you count it)!
Next week is Kraig's vacation! It's the first proper vacation (read: we are doing things we want to do! For a whole week! Seven days!) we've taken as a couple/family. Last year's "vacation" was driving across the country- super fun and I'd totally do it again, but moving at the same time was stress-inducing. We went to Florida this year but that was for a family event. It was fun as well, but doesn't count as a real vacation :) Next week will be 7 days full of EVERYTHING WE WANT TO DO! It's a staycation, which is even more exciting because we've not had a chunk of free days to explore Portland since we moved here (Kraig went back to work immediately after our arrival.)
Anyway, back to pregnancy.
Still coasting along, and sometimes I am surprised by how good I feel. I think I can start to "blame" that on Baby's position. It feels like he is transverse most of the time which keeps his feet away from my lungs. Hooray! The kicks aren't uncomfortable when he's laying this way, and there is more room in my stomach which also means less heartburn (not "no heartburn", though, unfortunately.)
I am starting to lose energy, though. I still have good days where I can conquer a million things, but the exhausted-lay-on-the-couch-and-read-to-Owen-all-day kinds of days are creeping in.... That means the nesting countdown is on. Yikes!
I mapped out a plan for things we need to get done before Baby's arrival and it was a little weird to me that there are only three months left. So soon! We can't wait to meet him! I'm super excited for childbirth, too. I'll keep reminding myself of that as it ekes closer and closer.... Now we just have to transition Owen to his new bed and potty train him before November! (bless his heart, he'll gladly wear no diaper (undies or not) and then have accidents with no issue. He's learning... slowly but surely. I wish I would have believed everyone when they say boys are harder to train....)
